Guy PELTIER, Company President. He has a strong background in international
business. In 1978 he contributed to the launch of Renix, a Renault-Bendix joint venture, where he created
the on board electronics department. In 1986, he founded Actia, a Renix spin-off which started with 50
people and 10M sales. G. Peltier remained Managing Director of Actia until dec. 2005. When he
resigned, the company was a worldwide group with 1600 employes, 19 subsidiaries and 170M sales.
Jean CROS, Chairman of Strategic Orientation Advisory Board. He holds a
Doctorate in Pharmacy and is a French University Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Amongst
his career appointments, he has been Dean of the Pharmacy Faculty at the University of Toulouse,
and was the Director of a CNRS research institute for 15 years. He is currently Director of the
joint CNRS/Pierre Fabre Pharmacological Screening Centre in Toulouse. In 1999, he was the author
of a French government commissioned report on medicines.
Christophe FURGER, Director of scientific affairs - Founder. The recipient of a Biology Doctorate in
1995 from Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris, France), he is expert in cellular biology,
and was awarded a prize for clinical research in the same year. From 1995 to 1998, he held the
post of Research Officer at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, Australia. In 2000 he was rewarded with
first prize in a national competition, organised by the French government Ministry for Research,
for the creation of new businesses in the technology sector.
Jean-François TOCANNE, Consultant - Founder. Following a first degree in Chemistry and
a Doctorate in Physical Sciences at the University of Toulouse, he joined the CNRS as a
government career scientist, where he directed a Bio-membrane research group of 15 people over
a 26 year period. He is a world-renowned specialist in biomembrane structure and dynanics and in
fluorescence-based methodologies and instrumentation. He is the author of 140 scientific
publications in international journals.
